Quintin Mikell

There’s been a flurry of chatter across the blogosphere in recent days regarding Quintin Mikell ’s exclusion from the NFC Pro Bowl roster. It seems a consensus among Eagles fans that Mikell was more than deserving of a spot. The Cardinals ‘ Adrian Wilson earned his second trip with 67 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 2 INT, 2 FF and 4 PD. The Philadelphia Daily News today reports that due to the big injury to Stewart Bradley this week, Quintin Mikell will call out the defenses in 2009: Now, with an All-Pro nod to his credit, Quintin Mikell can critique, he can advise, he can direct.With Bradley gone, Mikell will probably be the man running the defense, maybe even wearing the in-helmet microphone, calling coverages. “It’s not a burden. Free agent strong safety Sean Jones will be in town Friday to visit the Eagles . After flirting with Shawn Springs , the Birds will take a look at the ex- Brown to see if he fits into their immediate plans. Now, Jones is a legit strong safety, which leads me to believe Quintin Mikell would slide to free safety. I like this scenario better than Sheldon shifting from cornerback. Mikell played a lot of center field last season anyway. I like Jones as a player. At 6′1″, 225 he would bring needed size to a smallish secondary. Stay tuned for more. Read Full Story
