Enough with the second-guessing. Enough with the search for a scapegoat. If you want to blame someone, blame Tom Coughlin. That's what the Giants' coach said Wednesday afternoon in an unsolicited rant at the start of his post-practice press conference....  

Injuries at running back could leave the New York Giants short-handed for Sunday's key NFC East matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. Backups Ahmad Bradshaw and Danny Ware missed practice Wednesday and coach Tom Coughlin is uncertain about their status for the game. Bradshaw missed the loss at Denver on Thanksgiving night with left ankle and foot problems.  

New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw and safety Michael Johnson didn't practice because of injuries, leaving their availability for the team's game against Dallas uncertain. Coach Tom Coughlin said it was "encouraging" that Bradshaw, the team's second-leading rusher, sprinted a bit during practice Thursday.  

Bill Sheridan knows all about the New York Giants' tradition of dominant, physical defenses that opposing teams fear. The defensive coordinator also realizes this year's unit is no Big Blue Wrecking Crew. Not right now, anyway. "It troubles me a lot, but honestly, I'm not worried about the past and the tradition," Sheridan said Thursday.  

Just how much did the Giants' 34-31 overtime win over Atlanta help the team's psyche? Plenty. "Frankly, winning like that makes it easier to do everything," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said after his team went through a rare Monday afternoon practice in preparation to face the Denver Broncos on Thanksgiving night.  

Federal prosecutors in Philadelphia say a man has pleaded guilty to sending letters to New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin in which he threatened to expose a fictitious sexual tryst among the coach and two women. Prosecutors say 30-year-old Herbert Alex Simpson of Philadelphia pleaded guilty to two counts of mailing threatening communications.
