THE FOLLOWING IS A GUIDING SYNOSIS TAKEN FROM THE COMMUNIVERSITY PROPER:
With strick attention to developing our student’s basic education skills in the context of the highest standards of academic excellence, suitable for one to confidently sit for high stake exams(ie. SAT/ACT and MCATs, LSATs), we simutaneously advance the psycho-emotional healing and spiritual upliftment of our people by providing KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM AND OVERSTANDING of the historo-cultural, socio-political and psycho-educational experiences of Africans in America in away that RADICALLY REAPPRAISES EDUCATION from the pained and angry perspective of the oppressed black community.

WHY WE NEED TO DO THIS:
With the present day high rates of Black on Black homicide, suicide, and imprisonment and a rise in single-parent homes, rampant police brutality, unprecedented unemployment, and Blacks use of popular (ENEMY) culture (through music, video games and popular movies) to celebrate "anti-intellectualism, ignorance, irresponsible parenthood, drunkenness, dope dealing, weed smoking, cocaine, x-pills, loose sexual behavior and criminal lifestyles / thuggism"; we have chose to design a curriculum that, rather than getting caught up in the entertainment / BLACKPLOTATION aspects of hip hop/rap, will use hip hop/rap within a historo-cultural, socio-political and psycho-educational framework to address these various death walks forthrightly. Our new methodological style is intended to get our young people to begin to think critically about themselves, their world and their role as people of Afrikan descent.

WHERE WE ARE AND WHERE WE WANNA GO:
This work is a comprehensive (but only a core framework) sequenced survey of subjects and topics that have confronted Afrikans in America throughout our 246 years of chattel slavery, 100 years of aparthied and only “one generation of freedom” here in America. I like to describe the school as a “cultural development and leadership training communiversity”. From our research, we have determined that the idea of Sankofa, which means "We must go back and reclaim our past so we can move forward; so we understand why and how we came to be who we are today", really encompasses the whole Afrikan-centered ideal. Nonetheless, as this is a work in evolution and always under construction, we have chosen to focus our teaching/learning journey most directly on the past 45 years of our struggle for human and civil rights—

THE THEME “THE MORE THINGS CHANGE, THE MORE THINGS STAY THE SAME, WE NEED A REVOLUTION, THE SYSTEM AIN’T GONA CHANGE UNLESS WE MAKE IT CHANGE”.

The content and character of the curriculum is Afrikan-centered and the goal is academic excellence in persuit of black power. We tease out the social, political, economic and moral imparatives of black power in the 21st century by zooming in on two povital questions throughout our course of study:

“WHAT IS BLACK OPPRESSION IN AMERICA AND WHAT IS AFRIKAN LIBERATION.”

Dee Lee, a white man says "THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES" /and RBG SS Agrees

Pictorial Embellishments by RBG Street Scholar

THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES
Why: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS.

"THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES"

We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the effort of physical slavery. Look at the current methods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS.

Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once said, "The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book.

GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%).

Any of us can use them as our target market, for any
business venture we care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it. Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed. They
continually want more, with little thought for saving
or investing.

They would rather buy some new sneakers than invest
in starting a business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU, and they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them "Status" or
that they have achieved their Dream. They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making better communities.
With the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that often broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has even jeered them, saying he doesn't want their money, and look at how the fools spend more with him than ever before!). They'll continue to show off to each other while we build solid communities with the profits from our businesses that we market to them.

SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Dubois said that there was an innate division in their culture. "Talented Tenth" he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that has achieved some "form" of success. However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn't read that the "Talented Tenth" was then responsible to aid The Non-Talented Ninety Percent in achieving a better life.

Instead, that segment has created another class, Buppie class that looks down on their people or aids them in a condescending manner. They will never achieve what we have. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance.

When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of their goal. Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community.

They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best speakers, not to the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM)

They do not understand that they are no better than each other because of what they own , as a matter of fact, most of those Buppies are but one or two pay checks away from poverty. All of which is under the control of our pens in our offices and our rooms.

Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they
refuse to read, continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are "helping" their communities by paying dues to organizations which do little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels. By the way, don't worry about any of them reading this letter, remember, 'THEY DON'T READ!!!!

BLACK PEOPLE, PLEASE, READ & HEED. POIGNANT.

The sad thing about this article is that the essence of it is true. The truth hurts. I just hope this sets more Black people in motion towards making real progress. Chris Rock, a Black comedian, even joked that Blacks don't read.

Help prove them wrong! Read and pass on.

Please Note: For those of you who heard it, this is the article Dee Lee was reading this morning on a New York radio station. For those of you who didn't hear it, this is very deep. This is a heavy piece and a Caucasian wrote it. Dee Lee, CFP Harvard Financial Educators Dee Lee

Much love and respect to all that voiced their feeling about the article. For all of us that are striving to uplift the Afrikan people's living here in the Amerikkka's and everywhere else in the world, there are far to many more that are trying to lead us back into slavery. We are not slaves ahy longer. Knowledge of our ancestors and what trails and tribulations that they had to go thru to get us this point must be honoured and respected.
I love my people, but choose to do my own research before responding to and fowarding certian type of email. I went to the source. Dr. Dee Lee, check out her link at http://www.deelee.net Here is an exerpt from her web page. "If you are looking for the author of the "Blacks Don't Read" article, you have reached the wrong Dee Lee. I did not author or nor did I read the article in question on air. My life time work has been to educate people regarding money and helping them be good stewards of their resources. This article has been circulating on the internet for over six years and over the years many things have been added to the gossip chain, my picture is one of them. Dee Lee is a common name, continue your Goggle search. “A lie can make it halfway around the world before the truth can even get its boots on.” —Mark Twain " Let's do our own research even if it means looking up the source to question them directly before forwarding email. I hope everyone recieves this information as I'm sending it... IN LOVE for my people.
You are...!
The essence of the article is so very true. However, the first step to change this is starting at home. Make it a point to have a special time for reading at home with the children. Stop buying all of these expensive clothing made by a white man/woman who could careless about our finacial state of being. Lend your brother or sister a hand when they need help. I won't sit and act like I am not a part of this terrible state that we live in, but I can say that I have made a point not to feed into this ridiculous new age of greed, ignorance, and false sense of having some sort of status means something. My children and I live a reality that we can't get anywhere living the life of another man. I refuse to buy them name brand clothing and keep them with every popular thing that is out. What would I be teaching them? Not a dag on thing! They know and are still learning about the struggles of our ancestors. Start helping your neighbor, be your brothers keeper, raise those children in your village and keep a watchfull eye when they are out there playing with your youngin. Stop turning a blind eye to what is going on in your community! We need a community of our own where we police our streets and create jobs for one another and take care of our own children and school our children.
Extremely Powerful Teaching Sakeli Asnnte Sana (Thank You Very Much)

With regards to reading

Marcus Garvy Say:

Lesson 1: One must never stop reading. Read everything that you can read, that is of standard knowledge. Don’t waste time reading trashy literature. The idea is that personal experience is not enough for a human to get all the useful knowledge of life, because the individual life it too short, so we must feed on the experience of others. Lesson 2: Read history incessantly until you master it. This means your own national history, the history of the world, social history, industrial history, and the history of the different sciences; but primarily, the history of man. If you do not know what went on before you came here and what is happening at the time you live, but away from you, you will not know the world and will be ignorant of the world and mankind. Lesson 3: To be able to read intelligently, you must first be able to master the language of your country. To do this, you must be well acquainted with its grammar and the science of it. People judge you by your writing and your speech. If you write badly and incorrectly they become prejudiced towards your intelligence, and if you speak badly and incorrectly, those who hear you become disgusted and will not pay much attention to you, but in their hearts laugh after you.

At RBG Reading Is Fundemental: Good Books at a Glance

To the writer of this ignorant article concerning blacks still being in slavery. While you are writing ignorant articles, African Americans are writing educational books, READING and getting our degree in engineering, political science, and becoming intelligent professors at Harvard. While you are thinking of what other stupid and ridiculous article you can write, Africian Americans are coming up with more inventions and running for President. Spend more time doing something more educational that is going to help all Americans and not so much time on feeding your ignorance to hungry children who need to be fed postive history with positive readings. One must listen to the true fundamentals on not onlt Afro- Centralistic but the fundamentals of life. The life I have lived is short and it itself does not Have that nuch to give, but listen, regardless of this and of our past as slaves we must move on and stop dwelling in the past and move on. I have just recently heard about this letter but in all truth I am not disgusted nor am I ashamed. All I know is that I need to be better, to work harder and to prove to people like Mr. Lynch and Dee Lee that we stil exist and we are strong, my ansesters were niggers and so will the people who come after me.(depending on who I marry) After listening to this audacious commentary all that I am concerned about know is that I need to work harder, I don't know how but this letter is inspiration, RBGStreetScholar I have listened to our commentary and I do not agree I think we need God and our family and equality in our lives, and we need to march, protest and listen to the black preachers. But I garantee you this Mr. Lynch, Mr , Dee Lee, RBGStreetScholar and every rasist person to come in my life " I will reach the top and when i you look in the newspaper one day it will say that a The first African male has reached the title of Richest Man in the world and I hope you remember me and when I wrote this, I will reach the top without trickery, drugs, or guns. I am a Black teen with no degree or anything, but..........I can read
Well said. The blacks should take a look at themselves instead of crying foul to the white people. Everything Dee Lee said is so true, I thought I wrote it. Education, self respect, and working hard, is something that's not in the black culture. Easy money by state, or government, or disability, not to mention crime, is what black people persue instead of earning their money. Gee, am I prejudice? The blacks make me that way. I didn't feel this way over night!! The naacp hurts them more than helps. The naacp creates more prejudice from a one sided opinion, that does nothing to help the black race! Look who's in the spotlight. Jessie, millionare, and the rest who are living the good life while they spread the disease of prejudice. What do they do for the balcks to create a unity for working, education, staying out of jail? Not a dam thing. Let one white person say something a little off the wall, and there goes the naacp. In the mean time you never hear from them. If black people think the naacp is for them, they are wrong. The naacp is out for themselves and nobody else. Does the naacp take up the cause for MLK and try to stop blacks from commiting so many crimes or filling our jails and prisons? Does the naacp educate the blacks on how to get an education and better themselves instead of taking the easy way out of taking state and government money? If black people are so mad at the prejudice in America, they brought it on themselves. Their actions result in prejudice. Not the white people. Remember the quote: If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, etc.?
I would like to add a comment about this article. This is the problem with people who just take one persons word for gospel truth. The Dee Lee that made these comments on the air was an African American who used to have a morning radio show. The Dee Lee that you all think said these things is a seventy year old white woman who has a degree in accounting from Harvard. This thing happened over six years ago. Why don't you try to do a little research before you start blaming all of the krakas for crap. I think you ALL should write miss Lee and apologize for your comments and lack of diligence! Unfortunately none of you have the guts to do it though. By the way, i am a kraka.
Comment to fhlb10 and riknau: U both r so naive, it don't matter who wrote this article on black people being slaves. bottom line is that they are ignorant, just like u. u r possessed by their spirit - if u read the willie lynch, as shown above, with intensity - u will understand why we r in this state. even the part about "thug culture" - don't look @ crime as the easy way out for thugs. bet u all loved "2Pac", but if u think of him that way then, u obviously don't relate to him on any level. i'm a chic, a black chic, and i say thugz4life. westside til we die - Fcuk d police
I'm an south African, yes an African by birth but lost are blood draw of a white man fused to my genes , I’m not too dark but still not too white to be a white man, I come from a middle class family " my dad is med doctor and mother a school teacher" an African dream so to say and I myself have dream job "I.T" a computer engineer of which the technology is a decade behind compared to that of USA , i surely read books. With my situation exposed to you, I’m still an African leaving South African and I’m proud of my roots and origins, now I will react to the aggressive letter by opinion. I will concur with the writer to say his observation is accurate and indeed black people are greedy, ignorant and envious/spiteful, with all the opportunities presented to us yet we still are individualistic characters but we have mastered the art of sharing because there are limited resources at our disposal, but our good sharing instincts are still not of empowering other individuals but to just provide the right amount to relieve that guilty conscious but not enough for one’s independence. Our socio economic factor dictates who we are; reference to beginning of the Willie Lynch Letter “a long range economic plan” this is aimed to distract, disrespect and benefit from our displacement, from any where in this Earth natives were definitely not taken out of the jungles for economic synergies, there was an economic need and we are the solution “problem solved”!!. Our current settlements I believe you call them “ghettos” I refer again to the long range economic plan, the plan does not mention any development intentions for slaves because slaves are meant to satisfy the economic needs of the master not otherwise, our settlements are the cages build to keep us in and separated “east and west” side. Values Created and transported, they created this values to remind themselves of the effort taken in dragging the slaves from the jungles to their systems called “civilization”, we live in a system created, introduced to us for their economic benefits not otherwise. Black people have been suffering for hundreds/thousands of years and to our affirmation we are aggressive to one another only because we are slaves in a race, running a track that only the master gets to hold the trophy to proclaim his win!!! How do we claim the trophy? I think the writer is right again the war we should be fighting is” economic equality (which should have been their fight all along)”, now that we are aware of the economic plan indoctrinated to us lets put these Engine (creator of system) in higher gear to see if this fatigued bolts and Nuts (Support of system) can maintain performance still. Closure: I’ll excuse the writer because he did not mention that also some percentage of his ethnic group are also running the on our track “slave track”, this is a shame because even on this meaningless, recurring race they are still falling behind. We all Africans scattered over entire world simply because we never had gun powder to fight back the forced relocations, confusion leads to us fighting each other “slaves on the loose” dangerous and armed, it’s only inevitable that we are going to kill each other for leftovers because the Master never wrote a will. I love all people of any color and I only fear the informed.
I agree with Kuwani. I'm also from SA, but i have a discomfort when it comes to u leaving for the US. I know u have your reasons and all. The question I pose to you is, why do you want to go abroad to enhance your skillz where as you can just help other brothers learn from you. I bet, once you are there, you will not want to come back to African, the so-called Third world, dark continent as the West calls it.
Don't you realize this article is a HOAX!
Stop feeling and BEING so underated. It's time to stop feeling so sorry for ourselves, but to make a real impact in society. This might sound like the worst cliche, but actions speak louder than words. Push and unleash your full potential and there will be no need for website such as this. Godbless you all
I am a Black woman in South Africa. I read the article and feel sorry for people like Dee Lee. Yet another Caucasian that amuses him/herself by having a go at Black people. Lee is not alone, plenty of White South Africans do the same here. When the new dispensation kicked in in 1994, White South Africans fled the country fearing Black rule. Change was smoothly implememnted, no blood was shed. The very same Whites got miserable overseas and started coming back. They left cause they undermine Blacks, they thought we are incapable and incompetent, we proved them wrong. Whites fear Black ability. I am proud of being Black, for a nation that has been enslaves, colonised, abused, we have done very well. Whites will never acknowledge that. It makes them sleep deep to believe that we cannot survive without them. We can. In South Africa here we refer to Whites as "Umlungu" that means scum from the sea. That is pretty much what they still are to me. I wake up everyday, wondering what the hell is this scum doing in my country?!!!

I have read the above responses and I agree with everyone of them. I will not stoop to the ignorant level of people such as Dee Lee. This article infuriated me, but at the same time I saw the truth in it. This is an attempt to keep black people down. We need to realize what a beautiful people we are. White people like Dee realize that if we as a people wake up and realize how powerful, intelligent and able we are, there is no stopping us. WE ARE SURVIVORS!!!! Don't let this article get you down, but let it be stepping stone to higher things. I LOVE ALL OF YOU MY PEOLPE!!!!
Just read something by DEE Lee, I hate it when the pink skinned make stupid comments on us blacks.Isn't their fault that we still have low self esteem, aren't they the 1ns who made us believe that without them we are nothing, we all had to fight for our freedom (blacks all over); while they were and still are makining their way to the top by using us, behind every white mans success there is a black man exploited one way or the other. If they want to make stupid comments they shud rather stick to their own kind.
This article is quite old, but the other truth of the matter is that even though Dee Lee says that Black folks do not read you must remember a larger majority of them do not read either. I am tell you the truth. The largest population of people on Assistance in America are white people not black people. All those people that are always saying that black folks do not read, especially white folks need to look at the statistics more closely. There are a large part of their population that does not read or write than our, black, population. Since they are the dominate population all those ignorant white people that live in West Virginia, Virginia, North and South Dakota, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Utah, etc. are inclusive of the population that does not read or write. Remember that white people, the dominate culture of this country, always have to make themselves seem more cultured and sophisticated. Just want to inform you that being an degreed African American and African Studies person, I had to look into this type of information on a regular basis. Therefore, what the white folks speak of as truth is not necessarily the truth once you know how the population of America is put together since 1619.
am from zambia and i read this artical via an e-mail from family living in the states. i belive black people, am talking about you and i can either use this information positively or negativley...
dee lee in her artical seems to realise hoe powerful a people we are! and how successful we can be if only we can work together.. yes the global community we have imporved not only in talent as she claims but in interlect.... i love my skin, i am black and a university student.. and in my street are two white kids who failed to go to college, the choice of ones conviction to read does not based on the colour of their skin.
am hurt by her lack of euphemism, but encouraged at the fact that if we work together we can be a better people.
1 love
