Drummer and lyricist for Rush , Neil Peart celebrates his 57 th Birthday today. Neil is without a doubt one of the most influential drummers in history, and I’d say that eight out of ten drummers I interview site either him or John Bonham as their primary influence. Many people aren’t aware that Neil is not only amazing drummer but also an inspiring author who has suffered a ridiculous amount of personal tragedy in his life. In 1997, his teenage daughter died in a car crash and his wife passed away less than year after that. Soon after losing his family, Peart took a ... Read Full Story

Geddy Lee, Neil Peart and Alex Lifeson of Rush I absolutely love Rush..I live, eat and breathe Rush..and I can never get enough. I have literally been listening to Rush for 15+ years and I still to this day discover new songs that are just as phenomenal as the song before. I have had the pleasure of seeing them live twice at Red Rocks in 2007 and 2008 and lets just say I was extremely worried that I was not going to be able to see them at all so I am eternally grateful for the two shows I did get to see. (I ... Read Full Story

Why is some asshole young'un always stealing my gosh-darned thunder? First it was that little tramp* that beat me to the punch on a landmark Jewsian Bat Mitzvah --complete with glorious photos and full NYT coverage. Actually the most adorable little Jewess you ever did see. *Not actually a brat. Actually a total freakin' genius and my hero. Source Source Source   Subscribe in a reader Read Full Story

It seems that most everyone associated with Rush (well, drummer Neil Peart and guitarist Alex Lifeson anyway) have been making noises about a possible project of some kind in 2010. But nailing down just what form that project might take is, at the moment, an experience not unlike trying to hug a gust of wind. In September, Lifeson was quoted on noisecreep.com: "Neil and his wife had a baby just a couple of weeks ago, so he's asked if we can...

NEWS, WEATHER, and SPORTS: November, 2009 - Autumn Serenade Neil Peart has once again updated the News page on his website. He begins by detailing some of his recent explorations in drumming: NEWS, WEATHER, and SPORTS: November, 2009 - Autumn Serenade ...
