Rachel Futterman is a USF student who died of meningitis. School officials say 19-year-old Rachel Futterman became ill one Friday and went to the hospital that Saturday, where she was placed on life-support and later died.

Authorities say a Head Start teacher's aide in Michigan has died from bacterial meningitis. Letters have been sent to parents of children in the Hale school district reassuring them that it is safe to send their youngsters to school.
