Radek Dvorak broke a tie with a short-handed goal at 7:02 of the third period and the Florida Panthers beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2 on Friday night to snap a four-game losing streak. Stephen Weiss, Nathan Horton and Steven Reinprecht also scored to help the Panthers (2-4) avoid the worst six-game start in franchise history. David Clarkson scored a power-play goal with 3:35 left to give the New Jersey Devils a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Saturday night. Travis Zajac had a goal and an assist, Rob Niedermayer also scored and Brian Rolston had two assists for New Jersey. The Florida Panthers are bringing back forward David Booth, agreeing to a six-year contract extension with the young forward who was a restricted free agent. The deal was announced Wednesday, early in the NHL's free-agent signing season. In 72 games for the Panthers last season, Booth recorded 31 goals and 29 assists, both career highs. The 24-year-old Michigan native also became the sixth player in franchise history to score at least 30 goals. He led the team with 246 shots.
