Remember here , my experience in sewing with Minkee? And the solution? Well, the quilt is just about finished, with only the binding to stitch down. I couldn't think of a name for this pattern for the longest, but as I was quilting it one evening, I stopped to look at the quilt, and realized that it looked like a box of candy...a cheery, sweet, box of candy! On Friday I received an advance copy of the new Fons & Porter Easy Quilts Magazine Summer 2009, and there was my Sweet Melissa quilt! I mentioned on Facebook how much naming this quilt Sweet Melissa meant to me...I named the quilt after my daughter Melissa, who was named in honor of my aunt Melissa, and the fabric is my cousin Eric's (nephew to Aunt Melissa), of Cosmo Cricket fame.
