As New York Vinnie was checking out the NBA on Friday I jumped on the “ Boston Globe ” website. If you spent even a small amount of time at the “ House That New York Vinnie Built ” Le Basketbawl you can probably figure out that I am not in any way, shape or form a Boston fan. However New York Vinnie did predict last summer that the Boston Celtics would win the NBA Finals next June and the early returns do back me up. The Celtics will have one player in the NBA East All-Star Team starting line-up which is chosen by ... Read Full Story

It takes talent to score points in the NBA all it takes to play defense is effort and desire. Every player that has worn an NBA uniform knows that statement to be true but for many players ending up on “SportsCenter” is a lot more appealing than a victory. That is not the case with the Boston Celtics who won their tenth straight game Saturday night as they went to the United Center in Chicago and beat up the Bulls 106-80. Earlier in their winning streak the Celtics were winning games with their offense as they had a string of games when they shot ... Read Full Story

When you think of the “ Elite Point Guards ” that play in the NBA in 2009 there are certain names that are always mentioned. By far the best player over the last few seasons at the point has been CP-3 New Orleans Hornets All-Star Chris Paul. Deron Williams of the Utah Jazz is also a player that is prominently mentioned and a young man who has come up on the radar over the last year Chicago Bulls point and last season’s NBA Rookie Of The Year Derrick Rose. One player who may not get the respect the previously mentioned group get is Boston ... Read Full Story

Rajon Rondo scored 12 of his season high-matching 18 points in the third quarter and the Boston Celtics rebounded from a two-game skid with a 109-95 win over the short-handed Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. Paul Pierce, who missed a day of practice with a sore left knee, scored 19 on 7-of-12 shooting. Playing without a wrap on the knee, Pierce made a 3-pointer after the Warriors ended the Celtics' 12-0 run with a pair of free throws in the third quarter. Pierce's 3 made it 70-57. The Warriors had just nine players in uniform and eight played. Kelenna Azubuike, Ronny Turiaf and ... Read Full Story

Paul Pierce scored 21 points, Rasheed Wallace had 20 and the Boston Celtics remained unbeaten with a 105-74 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night. The Celtics improved to 5-0 even without the usual standout performances from Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. Allen didn't score his first field goal until the third quarter and had five points. Garnett made just one basket on seven shots and scored three points when he was yanked with the game out of hand. Wallace was about the only Celtic who had his normal night, even getting whistled for a technical foul for arguing with the refs in ... Read Full Story
Rajon Rondo trails Miami’s Dwyane Wade by more than 500,000 votes, so there is no chance he will be elected a starter for the Feb. 14 All-Star Game in Dallas. That doesn’t mean, however, that Rondo hasn’t been the best point guard in the Eastern Conference.

View the entire story at North Station Sports I knew it was coming. No shock here. Brad Miller's throwdown of Rajon Rondo came early in Saturday night's match up between the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls. Despite the media's attempts to make this a rivalry, Boston once again showed that last spring's ultra-competitive series against the inferior Bulls was a total fluke. Miller's clothes line of Rajon Rondo was, in my mind, both premeditated...
