British adventurer Sir Ranulph Fiennes has reached the summit of Everest on his third attempt at conquering the world's highest mountain, a spokeswoman said Thursday. The 65-year-old arrived at the top of the 8,848-metre (29,028-foot) Himalayan peak just before midnight GMT on Wednesday, said a spokeswoman for Marie Curie Cancer Care, for whom Fiennes is raising money. A Nepalese "Super Sherpa" conquered Mount Everest for a breathtaking 19th time on Thursday, breaking his own previous world record, officials said. Apa Sherpa, 49, reached the summit of the world's highest peak early in the morning, Jitendra Giri, of the Nepalese mountaineering department, told AFP.
