Randy Pausch was a Carnegie Mellon University computer science professor who was an early advocate for virtual reality. His "last lecture" became an Internet blockbuster hit. He died at 47.
Randy Pausch died today , but I hope it is not the end of his lecture: Professor Pausch was a person, who in his courage, intelligence, insight and child-like wonder, had more to offer us than all the politicians, professional god worshipers and self-help gurus, put together. RIP Randy Pausch . But a dream goes on forever . Read Full Story

“We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.”
–Randy Pausch
A lot of professors give talks titled “ The Last Lecture .” Professors are asked to consider their demise and to ruminate on what matters most to them. And while they speak, audiences can’t help but mull the same question: What wisdom would we impart to the world if we knew it was our... Read Full Story
Randy Pausch inspired the world with The Last Lecture . I made the oddest, most wonderful (and also tragic) discovery recently and I wanted to share it as this week's Monday Morning Inspiration. When I first became interested in digital puppetry and started my Machin-X blog , someone told me about a program at Carnegie Mellon University called Creating Virtual Worlds . They suggested trying to get in touch getting with the professor who founded the program because he was incredibly... Read Full Story

Like tons of Trekkies around the country, I popped out Thursday to rejoice in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek” reboot and the heart of the movie won out over the complete lack of understanding of very basic scientific concepts (no, a supernova is not like a nuclear bomb - it takes lots and lots of years to happen - and a singularity near Earth would make it go boom). But I am now insanely in love with Abrams. I’m talking bear his children love.

I'm sure a lot of you have already seen this...but for me, yesterday after visiting HIS blog, I was reminded of where my perspective needed to be! I actually hate those slaps in the face... so parallel to the saying, " Misery loves company "...well the guilty also " loves " company :) Even though the thought of death can be sad, I feel it is only for those of us left behind who mourn, because I believe the world we return to, if we have lived our life well and with goodness, is joyful and...
