Finally the deed has been done. We all knew this was coming and had been rumored for quite some time. However, Full Tilt has finally announced that Tom “Durrr” Dwan is now the 14th Full Tilt Pro. Dwan has been an online juggernaut for quite some time now but this pretty much consummates the relationship that everyone assumed was the perfect match.
Dwan is arguably Full Tilts best online poker player although he has also done well in live poker tournaments along with a WPT final table too... Read Full Story
According to sources Tom “Durrr” Dwan and Full Tilt are working on making him a Full Tilt Pro. I can only say that it’s about time. Dwan has certainly proven to be an upper echelon online poker player and has done well in live tournaments too. I think most of us figured it was only a matter of time before this marriage took place.
According to Howard Lederer, a Full Tilt Founder, they are banging out the details and working out the dollar amount. I am sure we will be hearing an... Read Full Story
After 25 intermittent sessions Tom Durrr Dwan has managed to turn the tables on Antonious who once had the lead. No less than a few days ago Patrick Antonious was up more than 300k. Dwan finally started to hit his draws and chipped away at the lead from session to session.
Neither player has ever had a lead this large at any point in the challenge. This should be very interesting and could be very dangerous for Antonious if he is not careful. If he were to quit now he would be out of $1.2... Read Full Story
Yes the World Poker Tour has yet another owner. Personally, I believe this may be the best scenario for the troubled WPT. As you may well know the WPT has had trouble sustaining ownership. The stock has dropped dramatically over the years and is currently hovering around $1.41 per share. Mike Sexton being a major player with both Party Gaming and the WPT gives instant credibility to this marriage and the vision to make it profitable for both sides.
Of all the owners the WPT could have this... Read Full Story
Patrick Antonious has gone on a ridiculous run and extended his lead to over $488k+ in the Tom Durrr Dwan challenge. This was the eighteenth session the two have played and the largest win/loss by far. It seems that Dwan, as I predicted got more aggressive but picked the wrong time to do so and paid a hefty price.
At this point Antonious has the moment big time. Can he continue to dominate at this rate?
Stay tuned!

After playing a little over 12,000 hands Patrick Antonious has begun to extend his lead in the Durrr Challenge. Antonious is now up $84,544.00. Over the past two weeks the lead had exchanged hands a few times but this is the largest lead to date that either player has had. It will be interesting to see of Antonious can hold on to it and extend it even further. Omaha is an extremely volatile game and big swings come with the territory so it ought to be interesting if either player can move... Read Full Story
Royal Flush - The best possible hand. Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10, all of the same suit. Straight Flush - A straight flush is a straight (5 cards in order, such as 7-8-9-10-J) that are all of the same suit. As in a regular straight, you can have an ace either high (A-K-Q-J-T) or low (A-2-3-4-5). You can not use the Ace in a wraparound and example would be K-A-2-3-4, which is not a straight. Four of a Kind - Four cards of the same rank like four Aces or Four Kings. If there are two or more... Read Full Story
Looks like the Durrr Challenge is starting to finally heat up. Patrick Antonious is now up 180k+ and starting to apply a little pressure on Tom Dwan. They still are not playing all that frequently but at least when they do we are beginning to see some nice sized pots. Omaha is a funny game though. Large swings are not uncommon either way and the momentum could just as easily move to Durrr’s side in a heart beat.
I will keep you posted the next time these guys go head to head again... Read Full Story
A while back I wrote a post about the Tom Dwan Challenge and said it was dumb. I caught some flack about that post and I also got a lot of support too. One thing is for sure and that is that Tom Dwan fans are extremely passionate and that makes for some interesting banter amongst poker bloggers like myself. Since then I have purposely taken some time to follow-up on Tom at Full Tilt and also read everything I could get my hands on about his personal life and upbringing. What I found was...
