In 2007, Lesa Ledesma handed the keys to her car to her 15-year-old son Shawn Ledesma, at the time an unlicensed driver, and gave him permission to drive her car. This decision led to the death of 14-year-old Raquel Carreras when she was ejected from the vehicle Shawn was driving after he lost control, flipped the car, and struck a tree. Since Raquel Carreras was killed as a result of the crash, Shawn was charged and pled guilty to vehicular homicide. Lesa Ledesma pleaded guilty in the case of Raquel Carreras. (KY3) Two years ago, in September 2007, a tragic car accident took the life of Raquel Carreras when she was only 14 years old.  Now, several years later, legal responsibility has been officially assigned.  Lesa Ledesma pleaded guilty to manslaughter for the car crash that killed 14-year old Raquel Carreras.  The driver of the vehicle was her 15 year old son Shawn Ledesma.  Lesa gave her son permission to drive the car and is therefore responsible for his illegal actions.
