365 New Foreclosures Filed in Massachusetts in Week Ending November 6, 2009
365 new foreclosures were filed in Massachusetts over this past week,
ending Friday, November 6, 2009, 71 less new foreclosed
properties than last week with 436 new foreclosure filings.
Broken down by county, Barnstable County had 18 foreclosures, Berkshire County had 4 foreclosures, Bristol County had 35 foreclosures, Dukes County had 2 foreclosures, Essex County had 46 foreclosures, Franklin County had 5 foreclosures, Hampden County had 27 foreclosures, Hampshire County had 3 foreclosures, Middlesex County had 55 foreclosures, Norfolk County had 27 foreclosures, Plymouth County had 40 foreclosures, Suffolk County had 45 foreclosures, and Worcester County had 58 foreclosures.
The biggest movers from last week to this week were Essex County (5% increase, 44 -> 46), Berkshire County (0% decrease, 4 -> 4), and Dukes County (0% decrease, 2 -> 2).
As the volume of foreclosures fluctuates from week to week, we much prefer to look at the number of new foreclosures over the past 60 days.
Over the past 60 days, the following number of foreclosures were started, by county:
Barnstable County, MA: 311 new foreclosures
Berkshire County, MA: 67 new foreclosures
Bristol County, MA: 494 new foreclosures
Dukes County, MA: 27 new foreclosures
Essex County, MA: 693 new foreclosures
Franklin County, MA: 53 new foreclosures
Hampden County, MA: 377 new foreclosures
Hampshire County, MA: 63 new foreclosures
Middlesex County, MA: 885 new foreclosures
Nantucket County, MA: 11 new foreclosures
Norfolk County, MA: 391 new foreclosures
Plymouth County, MA: 540 new foreclosures
Suffolk County, MA: 571 new foreclosures
Worcester County, MA: 816 new foreclosures
