Reese Witherspoon (born March 22, 1976) is an Academy Award-winning actress from New Orleans. She married her "Cruel Intentions" co-star Ryan Phillippe in 1999 and had 2 children with him before they divorced in 2007. She won the Oscar for her role as June Carter Cash in "Walk the Line," and received a Golden Globe for her critically acclaimed role in "Election." Reese Witherspoon Hosts Avon Foundation for Women Gala – Photos
Reese Witherspoon and Andrea Jung hosted the Avon Foundation for Women Gala at New York City’s Cipriani 42nd Street on Tuesday (October 27) with a special musical performance by Fergie. The gala honored exceptional women and men for their efforts fighting breast cancer and domestic violence.
Reese was quoted as saying,
“The initiatives of the Avon Foundation raise critical funds and awareness to combat breast cancer around the world. As a woman, a mother and the Honorary Chair of the Avon Foundation, I am proud to lend my support to this cause.”
Other celebrities in attendance included Courtney Cox, Lauren Conrad, Patrick and Jillian Dempsey and Suze Orman.
