NFL receiver Reggie Williams was charged with drug possession after off-duty policemen used a Taser to subdue him when he refused to leave a bar. Houston police spokesman Kese Smith says Williams was impaired when he refused to leave a bar Sunday night. He struggled with two off-duty officers who tried to escort him out and one of them used a Taser on him. He was reportedly found to be in possession of a small amount of cocaine. Williams was arrested in late February, on charges of driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuanna. Former University of Washington wide receiver Reggie Williams was tased and arrested for cocaine possession at a Houston nightclub Sunday. Houston police say Williams got into an altercation at the Open City Lounge. Two off-duty Houston police officers who were working security asked Williams to leave. Police say he refused and became combative, fought with one of the officers and had to be tased. Williams was taken to jail where police found a bag of cocaine on him. HOUSTON, March 13 (UPI) -- A judge in Harris County (Texas) Criminal Court dismissed DUI charges against NFL free agent wide receiver Reggie Williams. Williams was arrested Feb. 27 on charges of driving while intoxicated. The charges were thrown out Friday when the presiding judge ruled there was no probable cause for Harris County police to stop Williams. A police report said blood drawn from Williams after his arrest showed a .05 blood alcohol content. The legal the legal limit for intoxication is .08 in Texas. The reason the Jags are not selling tickets has nothing to do with the race of the quarterback. It has everything to do with the recession and the cost to attend a game.
