Regina Spektor - Eet Lyric It's like forgetting the words to your favorite song. You can't believe it; you were always singing along. It was so easy and the words so sweet. You can't remember; you try to feel the beat. Bee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee- Eet eet eet. Ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee- Eet eet eet. You spend half of your life trying to fall behind. You're using your headphones to drown out your mind. It was so easy and the words so sweet. You can't remember; you try to move your feet. Ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee- Eet eet eet. Ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee- Eet eet eet. [musical interlude] Someone's deciding whether or not to steal. He ... Read Full Story

Hey there, It’s Amanda here and I’m writing a new post called “Bestowing the Crown”. Basically, I think that female artists don’t get enough attention in the music world. It seems like in all genres, rock, country, hip-hop, female artists often get overshadowed by male counterparts. So I’d like to use this post to call attention to some girl talent, past and present. I’ll give some spotlight to both well-know and up-and-coming female musicians, thereby bestowing the crown on those who deserve to wear it. This week I’d like to talk about one of my favorite singers, Regina Spektor. Her newest album Far came ... Read Full Story

Forgot to post this review when I wrote it... Here it is... Regina Spektor At the House of Blues, Sept. 22 Standing in line before the show, you would not have guessed you were at a concert with fervent Regina Spektor fans. The mostly 20-something college crowd was content conversing, texting, even doing their homework. But once they were inside the House of Blues entrance, and had enjoyed the decent opening act Little Joy and what seemed like an interminable equipment setup, the crowd got what they came for. From the moment Regina strode on stage, love was in the air. As she sat ... Read Full Story

I love appreciating the visual art almost as much as I love listening to a good song. I will let you listen to these songs while I share some of the pictures ... Read Full Story

“Highrises In Brooklyn” is a nice coffeehouse lounger that will surely please those disappointed with Regina Spektor’s latest album- or at least fill the gap until her next. Up-and-comer Kelley McRae is one of those likable, smart pop-folksters who is easy on the ears and makes for a very pleasant listen. She played at Barnes and Noble the other night in New York City, and I can’t think of a more perfect environment for her kind of music. Sit back, relax, and let McRae’s calm voice and soothing melodies chill you out. And if “Highrises In Brooklyn” isn’t chill enough, head over to McRae’s ... Read Full Story
Regina Spektor's fifth studio album "Far" is far from disappointing. Read along as I describe my favorite songs from this enigmatic mixture of pop and classical music. "Eet," "Laughing With" and "Genius Next Door" joins the ranks of Regina classic's like "Lady Sings The Blues" and "Us."

MUSIC in the back end of the Noughties, and in 2009 in particular, has been notable for its femininity. True enough, 2009 has proved to be the year that the girls took the musical lead, but it’s also been a breakthrough point for many of the girls that had been working on amazing albums all decade.

Regina Spektor combines a whimsical, Björk-like sensibility with singing chops and genuine compassion, and she's usually able to effectively combine the silly and the sweet. While her previous album, Begin to Hope, featured some jaunty numbers and plenty of nonsensical ...

Title: Hell NoArtist: Sondre Lerche and Regina SpektorEver watch a movie and go "Meh" but absolutely fell in love with the soundtrack? I happened to catch the Steve Carell vehicle "Dan in Real Life" last week on cable. When I'm working, I tend to keep the TV on as background noise (occupational hazard of being from a big family and having kids--silence is distracting). Normally, I tune it out, but I found myself completely entranced by...
