Fine Wine, Cognac, Bourbon and Cigars in Redmond, WA.

Last Sunday, May 31st, myself, Daniel, Kevin and Bob got together for a Wine Tasting and Cigar Herf at the "Fine Wine and Cigars" store in Redmond, WA. Great wines and Cigar selection . It was about 2pm, clear skies and sunny.

We did a Wine tasting with a Porto Niepoort Tawny from Portugal. This wine delighted the palate with an incredible tawny that shows sweet, caramlized fruit, spice cedar and cigar notes on the nose. The palate is full bodied, rich and with a lush texture; this is well balanced and has an enjoyable, long finish.

We followed up by sitting outside in front of the store and enjoyed some Rocky Patel Conneticut Vintage cigars and others. We met new friends who joined us for cigars and talked about Cigars and Cigars places to visit.

This is the "Fine Wine and Cigars" store Cigar Humidor. Great selection, and a must visit for cigars.

Shortly, and after a couple of hours, Bob invited us to his place for Cigars, BBQ and Bourbon. At Bob's residence we were joined by another 10-7 HA member Mike and his wife, and new friends Erik and his wife from Redmond, WA.

We proceeded to sit outside on Bob's Patio and enjoy the Sun with great cigars.

The BBQ was Salmon, Prime Beef, along with other entree's. It was delicious.

Bob proceeded to share with us a 23 year old bottle of "Pappy Van Winkle" Family Reserve Bourbon. Wow! What a taste. This is a very rare bourbon and we were honored to be sharing such an exquisite liquor. Thank you Bob.

We also sample a 23 year old Bourbon "Black Maple Hill". Of course, anothe excellent taste.

In addition, Daniel brought the case and "empty" bottle of a Louis VIII De Remy Martin Cognac for a "Show and Tell" .

Daniel explained that he acquired the bottle from the Smokey Joe's Cigar and Sport Lounge Bar, after having the remaining (glass portion), of Cognac in the bottle.

Rémy Martin Cognac
Louis XIII De Rémy Martin
Created in 1874, Louis XIII has always been a tireless pursuit of excellence; more than 1,200 eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne region of Cognac, all aged between 40-100 years in specially crafted Limousin oak barrels.

The price for a bottle of Louis XIII De Remy Martin is about $1,899.00 world wide. And usually you can have a Cognac glass of this bottle for about $125.00 a glass.

The bottle (Crystal) and the case are today a collector's item and very valuable.
According to RTmy Martin's website, this product is "the highest quality cognac on the market today." Louis XIII cognac is manufactured using grapes from the Grande Champagne of France. It is blended from eaux de vie, some more than a century in age, then it is aged in "tiercons," barrels that are several hundred years old, in its own cellar.

Overall, it was a great Sunday to be with my 10-7 HA brothers and friends and enjoy great spirits and great cigars.
Thank Bob for a great Cigar Herf and thank you to the Staff of "Fine Wine and Cigars" store in Redmond, WA.
