Green played 9 games for Denver last season, while Jones conducted a one man tour around the Association. STAT in NYC? As we said after the Knicks made these two ridiculous trades late last week, their hopes for a championship run in 2010 are founded in free agency . Realistically speaking, New York could hold onto Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari as the only two players on the roster right now - which would cost a total of $5 million - and try to fill the rest of the roster with free agents. Or, if they re-up with David Lee and Nate Robinson , their total payroll would probably be less than $18 million total. So what could the Knicks do with ... Read Full Story

At the end of July, Renaldo Balkman was brought on to the Nuggets to replace Eduardo Najera as designated defensive, disruption, and hustling specialist. I compared Balkman, Najera, and Bobby Jones, another player known as a good and energetic defender. Jones was the kind of younger player who under the regime of George Karl was probably doomed from the start to never be able to remain on the Nuggets. Regarding Renaldo Balkman, the replacement for Eduardo Najera, the first problem is that the Nuggets have, as they are doing financially, gone from one extreme to another experience wise. Balkman has about 2,000 minutes of ... Read Full Story

I like this move even if I'm surprised. Even though he's provided as much energy and hustle in the limited chances he's been given as anyone whose worn a Nuggets uniform in recent years (as much as Karl favorite Najera), Karl won't play him. I do hope he's able to figure out how to gain admittance to Karl's clique.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – All any player wants is a real chance to show his worth. The irony of Renaldo Balkman’s contract extension with the Nuggets last week is he really hasn’t had an ample opportunity to show his. He played 780 out of a possible 3,936 regular season minutes last season, his first in Denver. [...]
