The RNC recently fired all of its telephone solicitors because it experienced an estimated 40 percent fall-off in small-donor contributions, due to failing confidence in the Bush Administration. But with pending 2008 elections, the Republican base is likely to fire up and get behind one of the new candidates. The RNC will play an influential role driving public debate during the election campaign season.
