My visit to Paris last summer was short, but what I remember most is obviously the food – especially the incredible pastries. I’ve never eaten so many amazing foods in one weekend. I definitely gained back some of the pounds I had lost living in London , where the only food I managed to fall in love with was fried chicken.

When KFC promised viewers of Oprah Winfrey free chicken, some fans thought it was too good to be true. And they were right, within hours there were queues outside the stores and KFC began to run out of their newly launched grilled chicken meals. Some restaurants even had to employ extra staff to manage the crowds which formed after the show on Wednesday. So far, Diho Siam has the best Wor Wonton Soup in Costa Mesa. The broth is amazing! Due to the weather and being under the weather, I’ve had a lot of Soup lately. This is the second day in a row I’ve had the Wor Wonton Soup Bowl from Diho Siam — (949) 645-3259. Too bad I didn’t photograph it yesterday, the Broth was crystal clear like the best Consomme ever seen, and the Shrimp was on top. It would’ve made for a better photo. Cafe R+D is part of the Hillstone Restaurant Group. Its decor reminds me of Houston’s, one of my favorite restaurants in the group. This R+D is in Fashion Island , another is in Dallas and one just opened in Santa Monica. We enjoyed the Newporter Roasted Chicken Salad with Avocado, Bacon & Huntsman Cheese (above) – It’s a fun and tasty deconstructed Salad.

Dieter Müller is one of the best known chefs in Germany and his namesake restaurant was next on my list during my stay in Cologne. A three star Michelin restaurant, it is housed in a beautiful Relais & Châteaux Hotel called Schloss Lerbach, which like Gut Lärchenhof, is about 16km from the centre of Cologne.
