WAILUA — A 59-year-old kite surfer made it to shore on his own at the southern end of the Wailua Golf Course at around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday evening and an intensive search for him was called off, a county press release states.

Climate conscious students plan to harness wind energy for fun on Thursday, October 22nd, flying kites on the Campus Center lawn. They hope to raise awareness and show their support for conscious solutions to the world's energy needs. The Kite Rally, organized by Members of the Asian Student Alliance and MassPIRG, starts on the campus center lawn at 2pm.

It is Katelin Carter's goal to see kites flying in the sky over University Green. As founder of the Ball State Kite Flying Society, Carter, a sophomore photojournalism major, along with the 81 members of the group, have taken steps this month to become an official campus club.  

Indianapolis-based Kite Realty Group Trust (NYSE: KRG) is reporting funds from operations (FFO) of $2.8 million for the third quarter of 2009, including a non-cash impairment charge of $5.4 million. Earlier this week I posted a photo that made me say "Whoa!". The video below may illicit a similar response, as you watch someone leisurely being pulled around by a kite while on his snowboard. Then, about halfway into the video, the wind grabs that kite, and pulls the snowboard, rider and all, way up into the air. It's hard to judge exactly how high he gets, but it is definitely a scary sight. This does look like crazy fun though! :)
