Rex Grossman Believes the Redskins were a Good 5-11 Team

By Robert D. Cobb on  From profootballzone.com
Washington Redskins quarterback Rex Grossman made an appearance on SiriusXM Radio on Wednesday per Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post . There was one thing in particular that really confused me.  It was when Grossman indicated that the Redskins were a good team this season,  despite their record. “It’s hard to say this, but we were a pretty damn good 5-11,”  said Grossman.  “You didn’t really want to play us.” I hate to break it to Grossman,  but there’s nothing good about only...Read Full Story

The reason why Devin Hester fell to Bears in 2006 draft – LenDale White

By Cartman on  From bearsgab.com
Former Bears Director of College Scouting Greg Gabriel revealed on the National Football Post how the Bears almost didn’t get a chance to select Devin Hester in the second round of the ’06 NFL Draft. Thank you, LenDale White and Floyd Reese – the Titans general manager who chose White over Hester at pick No. 45. Hester, drafted by Bears GM Jerry Angelo twelve picks later, was one (Danieal Manning) of the players Gabriel had his eyes on heading into the draft – “we had to get Devin Hester...Read Full Story

Rex Grossman Didn’t Lose His Job Over One Bad Game

By Beltwayboy on  From beltwayboysports.com
One bad game didn’t cost quarterback Rex Grossman his job as some people are saying. Grossman played well in week one against the New York Giants and decent in week two against the Arizona Cardinals, but that’s really it. His play had went backwards each week since the opener and I felt the switch to John Beck should have come sooner, but I’m glad to see that Shanny and Son finally made the move. Grossman is still the turnover machine that he’s been for his whole NFL career. He’s turned...Read Full Story

Devin Hester getting better at returning?

By Cartman on  From bearsgab.com
How can the “Windy City Flyer” possibly improve upon his record-setting return numbers? Easy – it’s about getting better at studying blockers, tendencies, and learning from a legendary return specialist. “It was like baseball,” said Hester, who turns 29 next month. “He pitched me right down the middle and it gives me great field position to go either way. I can set the defense up, starting one way and go back the other way. He noted Brian Mitchell, who had 13 return touchdowns during...Read Full Story

By ballhyped on  From ballhyped.com
Five analysts for NFL.com debated whether Devin Hester deserves induction in the Hall of Fame when his career is over. All five agreed that he did. There were some caveats, of course, with one analyst noting that he'll have to continue to perform at the high level at which he's performed, and that he'll face [...] NFL.com Debates Devin Hester Hall of Fame Credentials is a post by the Best Sports Blogs at BallHyped.com. Can Chicago’s Devin Hester be a Hall Of Famer?

By ballhyped on  From ballhyped.com
Right now he stands only 1 return touchdown behind the record 19 that Deion Sanders has. When he eclipses that mark, and becomes officially the greatest return man ever what then? I don't think holding that record would be enough to get him into the Hall. Can Chicago’s Devin Hester be a Hall Of Famer? Rex Grossman Promises the Redskins Offense Will Improve

By Robert D. Cobb on  From profootballzone.com
The Washington Redskins are off to a very good start to the 2011 season with a 3-1 record.  Their defense is doing a great job of flying around and making plays,  but the offense is just doing enough for them to win. Quarterback Rex Grossman realizes the offense needs to improve in order for the Redskins to keep winning.  “Overall, it was good, but I can definitely play better,” said Grossman. “We can play better as an offense, and we are going to play better.” Grossman better do...Read Full Story

What hinders Rex Grossman from becoming elite QB – his diet?

By Cartman on  From redskinsgab.com
Sally Jenkins of the Washington Post writes that the difference between a average team and an elite one is whether the team has an elite quarterback. “Elite” is defined as a quarterback who completes 60% of his passes, can throw for 4,000 yards in a season, and has fourth-quarter comeback ability. Which begs the question: is Grossman capable of being elite?  According to Jenkins, he already meets some of the criteria.  He’s completing 59.6 percent of his passes and averaging 282 yards a...Read Full Story
