For fans of Rex Grossman and the Chicago Bears. Rex Grossman is a quarterback and has been in the NFL for 4 seasons. His fan base is erroding, with weaker and weaker performances for the Bears recently. Lets hope he turns things around on offense.
Former Bears quarterback Rex Grossman is currently the backup to Matt Schaub in Houston, but that doesn’t mean his father doesn’t still watch the Chicago Bears. His father Dan quickly defended Jay Cutler and compared it to how Rex was in his time with the Bears.
Here’s what he had to say:
“It’s a self-perpetuating problem that is not Jay Cutler’s fault,” said Dan Grossman, who played quarterback at Indiana in the ’60s. “It’s not Rex Grossman’s fault. It’s not Kyle Orton ’s fault. It’s... Read Full Story
Congratulations Bear Fans this is your No.1 Receiver......Again! Maybe I should give the Bears a pass for not getting a solid receiver in free agency, because the got Jay Cutler. But if I did that I would be a nice guy and that's not my style. Don't get me wrong Bear fans, you see I'm a San Fransisco Giants fan and I know what it's like when ownership won't help the team. The SF Giants are probably the worst hitting team ever and it's understandable when the only talent they have is very raw... Read Full Story
Former Bears quarterback Rex Grossman signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans today.
The deal is worth the veteran minimum, $620,000.
He was the second quarterback to lead the Bears to a super bowl.
You can say all you want that he was on for the ride in 2006, but he was still the quarterback of a Super Bowl team.
There were talks of Rex not even playing in the NFL this season.
It was about the new league called the UFL, where they basically get the leftover NFL players, the... Read Full Story
Well, just about everyone I have encountered while researching the Bears draft have mentioned the Jay Cutler trade in their evaluation. I think that is fair, because let’s face it, it affected the draft.
Let me repeat something that I have mentioned before, I think it was a great move, and the Bears did not give up too much for Cutler. Why? Because Jay Cutler is a potential solution for a long search for a franchise quarterback. He is 25, fresh off of a pro-bowl, and has been healthy... Read Full Story
As we know, the Bears have several glaring needs. I've decided to browse some mock draft sites, which have the Bears down around the 10 or 11 spot in the first round order, and there are some interesting ideas.
As far as the "glam" positions, the Bears are in need of a QB and probably a RB. Most sites I read are predicting Kentucky QB Andre Woodson, who is in the "Big Three" quarterback ring for this draft. He's considered to be the quarterback with the biggest upside, as well as the worst... Read Full Story
The Chicago Bears enter the off season with plenty of needs, most of them on the offensive side of the ball. I know, many people are saying that Chicago needs a pass rushing specialist to take the heat of the secondary. I myself think Rod Marinelli and Lovie Smith will fix some of what ails the Bears defense. Marinelli knows how to coach a defensive line and will have the Bears D-line performing well in 2009. Lovie Smith will be making all of the defensive calls in 2009, he will have... Read Full Story

QB: Rex Grossman If by potential you mean jittery, inconsistent, unreliable, up-and-down, shaky, maddening, bizarre passing abilities, then yeah, he’s still loaded with potential.
RB: Matt Forte* Pass-blocking and receiving look good, and scouts like his tenacious running. That said, his greatest... Read Full Story
The Bears Defense has figured out how to stop the run, but now if they could only stop the pass. The Bears entered the League 30th overall in pass defense, and 6th against the run. The rest of the league has figured out that the Bears are soft against the pass, apparently everyone has, except the Bears Defensive coordinator Bob Babich and staff, and Bears head coach Lovie Smith. Kerry Collins threw for a season high 289 yards. Before this game Collins had not went over the 200 yard mark... Read Full Story

From John McClain of The Houston Chronicle :
On the last day of OTAs, the Texans agreed to contracts with veteran quarterback Rex Grossman and rookie free safety Troy Nolan.
If Grossman passes his physical, as expected, he’ll sign a one-year contract Friday worth $620,000 — the minimum for a seven-year veteran.
Grossman, who turns 29 in August, was a first-round draft choice by the Chicago... Read Full Story
