Here is the full text of Patrick Conley's letter:
The trashing of Roger Williams by Rhode Island College... Read Full Story

It's a sad day in Providence. One of my favorite buildings, the Arcade, has closed and is awaiting a new tenant. The City of Providence will provide $8 million in tax increment financing to improve the area around the ALCO project being developed by Struever, Eccles, and Rouse. The money will be used for several improvements, such as a riverwalk and public parks. It sounds like a great idea, but of course the Olneyville Neighborhood Association (ONA) is opposed. The Olneyville Neighborhood Association, a group that claims to represent the affected neighborhoods, sees the ALCO project as evidence... Read Full Story
For the past 2 years or so, I have been following the ALCO project closely. For those of you who aren't familiar with ALCO, it is a large development that involves a mix of commercial and residential development on land between Valley St. and the Woonasquatucket River in Providence. Besides new construction, the project will utilize several existing buildings, and will improve the area around the development by also creating a river walk. The project has already begun to pay dividends... Read Full Story
