Richard Adjei, the German Olympian who took silver earlier this week in the the two-man bobsleigh, fell short in his quest for another medal tonight. Team USA won gold—its first gold medal in the four-man competition in 62 years—the second German team won silver and Canada took the bronze. Adjei's team was in fourth place and about a minute behind the bronze.

This is the first Olympics for the 27-year-old Adjei, the former linebacker for the Berlin Thunder in NFL Europe and the son of a German father and Ghanaian mother. A few images of Adjei at the podium winning his silver earlier this week WHEN YOU JUMP ...

Said Adjei when he won his silver medal in the twp-man event: "I want to show people, hey, Germany changed. A lot of people still think Germany's mean and bad, you know? I'm half white, half black, I'm at the Games, representing my country and I'm proud. When I do sport, and compete well, they say, 'Germany's changed.'"
