Former NHL player Richard Zednik was skating with some kids in a hockey rink in his native Slovakia when they found themselves having to evacuate. The roof of the rink started to crack from the weight of the snow and ice on top of it, and Zednik and the kids were able to clear the rink just moments before the roof collapsed. Florida Panthers forward Richard Zednik is leaving the NHL to join the Russian league. Russian hockey club Lokomotiv of the KHL announced Thursday it has signed Zednik to a two-year contract.
