Rob Lowe is a well known American actor who became famous in the 80's with such movies as St. Elmo's Fire and The Outsiders. Since then he has appeared in such cult classics as Wayne's World and the Austin Powers trilogy. Lowe also appeared on the well-known television series The West Wing as Sam Seaborn, and can currently be seen on the series Brothers and Sisters. He is married to Sheryl Berkoff, they have two sons and reside in Montecito, CA.
Some actors find that a hit TV show can be as much a curse as a blessing - there are the long hours, the busy shooting schedules that preclude working on other projects and the occasionally career-killing typecasting that can befall an actor who has played an especially memorable character.
