Former Ducks forward Rob Niedermayer signed a one-year contract with New Jersey on Friday.
The deal is worth $1 million, according to ESPN.com.
Niedermayer joins the team that his brother, Ducks captain Scott Niedermayer , spent 12 seasons with and won three Stanley Cups, including the 2003 final against the Ducks.
