Former CIA agent Robert Baer is most noted for writing See No Evil, the book that inspired the spy-thriller film Syriana, starring George Clooney. In See No Evil, Baer entails his experiences as an agent in the field in many hot spots, from Soviet countries like Tajikistan to Middle East countries such as Lebanon and Iraq.

In the final active years of his 21-year CIA career, Baer called for Saddam Hussein's assassination ('95), and he also highly recommended an investigative approach emphasizing Human Intel, which was amazingly lacking in the pre-9/11 Agency. Both of Baer's recommendations have born out to be somewhat prescient. Baer's book Sleeping With the Devil made the connection that U.S. gas guzzling was indirectly funding terrorism.

Besides a cameo as CIA Officer #2 in Syriana, Baer can be seen in print as the security writer for CNN, and in his latest book, a novel entitled Blow the House Down.
