Robert John Downey Jr. is an Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winning American actor and sometimes, musician. His breakout role was a movie called Less Than Zero, where he played a high-society yuppie burnout – the movie was a self-fulfilling prophecy. Or so it seemed for a while. He eventually cleaned up and starred on the television series Ally McBeal as well as in a number of supporting and lead film roles, including the blockbuster smash, Iron Man.

He was my favorite character as a kid and Tony Stark had that great alcoholism storyline, which when you transfer it to the movies, is a natural subject for Robert Downey, Jr. , who has so famously and candidly faced his own serious problems with addiction. It would be a shame if Marvel and Jon Favreau dodged that character arc, but it wasn't in the first film and from the sounds of it, we won't get to it ... Read Full Story

And it could be among the growing list of upcoming 3D movies hoping to ride the wave of the Avatar effect. The Daily Beast mentions ... Read Full Story

Robert Downey Jr. has suggested that Sherlock Holmes might be a "very butch homosexual" and that he and his trusty sidekick might be "closer than just out solving crimes." I'm certainly no Holmesian scholar, but it seems to me that anytime a male protagonist has a male sidekick and they live together while bantering like an old married couple ... well, it's about as shocking as finding out that Bert and Ernie are more than just fishing buddies...
