Spammer Robert Alan Soloway is facing heavy prison time and stiff fines after pleading guilty in U.S. District court to single counts of mail fraud, email fraud and tax evasion. The original indictment included over 40 criminal charges including aggravated identity theft, money laundering and wire fraud. The charges stem from the company Soloway ran from 1997-2007. If prison inmates have an unspoken set of rules for spammers, like they do for pedophiles, Robert Soloway is in for a long 26 years. The 28 year old would basically hijack zombie computers and send out millions of spam emails. Some guy named Robert Soloway was sentenced to 47 months in prison in Seattle today. Soloway apparently sent over 90 million e-mails in a three month span.... Robert Soloway dubbed the "Spam King" was sentenced in Washington yesterday, according to an article in the Seattle Intelligencer. For his misdeeds, Soloway was sentenced to just under four years. Notably, Soloway was the second person to be prosecuted under the Can-Spam Act . It should also be noted that the prosecutors asked for about twice the time in prison and with good behavior, Soloway will probably only serve about half of the sentence he received.
