UConn senior safety Robert Vaughn was named the Big East's defensive player of the week on Monday.
Vaughn had 10 tackles, one for a loss, and two interceptions in UConn's 24-21 loss at Pittsburgh on Saturday. Vaughn returned one of the interceptions 20 yards for a touchdown. Vaughn's 11th and 12th career interceptions helped him remain the active leader in the Big East.
