Roberto Luongo, who holds a number of franchise records including most shutouts in a season, signed a multi-million dollar, 12-year contract extension with the Vancouver Canucks. The deal means Vancouver has locked up the 30-year-old Canadian through the 2021-22 National Hockey League season. The Vancouver Canucks and goalie Roberto Luongo have agreed to a 12-year contract extension. The deal was announced Wednesday for Luongo, who was entering the final season of a four-year, $27-million contract. The deal is reportedly worth $64 million. The 30-year-old, three-time All-Star is expected to finish his career in Vancouver. He also plans to play for Canada at the 2010 Olympics. Luongo was 33-13-7 last season, finishing second in the NHL with nine shutouts and fifth in both goals-against average (2.35) and save percentage (.920).
