Robin Meade -- Making tandem jump with George Bush

Robin Meade will be jumping out of an airplane with a former president.
TV's Robin Meade will be jumping out of an airplane with former President George Bush, part of his 85th birthday celebration.

For our 85th birthday, we plan to try to dress ourselves.

Television personality Robin Meade will participate in a tandem parachute jump with former President George H. W. Bush on Friday to celebrate Bush’s 85th birthday.

The U.S. Army Parachute Team, the “Golden Knights,” will be conducting the jump, which is scheduled to take place near Bush’s summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine. However, Friday’s forecast shows a likelihood of rain in the area.

If the event is rained out, Bush’s jump will be moved back to Saturday.

“It’s not every day one gets the chance to tandem jump alongside a former president, with the Army’s Golden Knights; it is both a thrill and an honor,” said Meade, an Atlantan who anchors a morning news show on HLN.

The former president’s most recent jump was in November 2007 at the reopening of his library at Texas A&M University. Bush parachuted from his Navy plane when it was shot down over the Pacific during World War II. He also made jumps to mark his 75th and 80th birthdays and on two other occasions.
