Sweet Child of Mine

The nights were getting warmer as we drew closer to our target date, August 1st 1987. I had only landed at the airport less the 90 days ago and already the heat was being turned up both by Mother Nature and by "Doc". I was within days of lifting the curtain on a new idea, I had stepped outside of my comfort zone and was a little scared of what was to come.
I had been 10 for 10 over about 12 years, but this was different, we were building from scratch.
New building (actually moved the whole operation into the mezzanine of a 150 year Hotel), new on air board (stereo board), new equipment (state of the art), and new employee's 5 to be exact. New call letters.
This time alot more then ratings were riding on my decisions of a musical style, now it was a whole different ballgame. We were going Head Banging,Skull Shattering, Glass Breaking, Speaker Screaming Hard Rock.
My personal life well that was a different matter. But I guess the life I had chosen was the Sweet Child of Mine.

She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that
special place
And if I stared too long
I'd probably break down and cry
Sweet child o' mine
Sweet love of mine
She's got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me
of a warm safe place
Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder
And the rain
To quietly pass me by
Sweet child o' mine
Sweet love of mine
Where do we go
Where do we go now
Where do we go
Sweet child o' mine
Appetite for Destruction
As Always
Peace
