Here were the top performances from the Arena Football League for Saturday, July 12, 2008, the Conference Championships:

• Philadelphia Soul quarterback Matt D’Orazio threw for 184 yards and eight touchdowns in his team’s 70-35 win over the Cleveland Gladiators. It will be the first ArenaBowl appearance in franchise history for the Soul.

• Cleveland Gladiators wide receiver Robert Redd caught 11 receptions for 152 yards and two touchdowns in the game.

• Philadelphia Soul wide receiver Larry Brackins had seven receptions for 92 yards and three scores.

• Philadelphia Soul defensive back Eddie Moten had 10 solo tackles and one assisted takedown in the game. He added two interceptions.

• San Jose SaberCats quarterback Mark Grieb threw for 255 yards and eight touchdowns in the SaberCats’ 81-55 win over the Grand Rapids Rampage. It will be the team’s second straight ArenaBowl appearance and fourth in franchise history.

• Grand Rapids Rampage wide receiver Kenny Higgins caught 12 passes (two for touchdowns) for 142 yards.

• San Jose SaberCats wide receiver Cleannord Saintil caught 11 passes for 113 yards and a game-high five touchdowns.

• San Jose SaberCats defensive back Omarr Smith intercepted three James MacPherson passes, tying an AFL playoff record. He also had four solo tackles and an assisted tackle.

• San Jose SaberCats defensive back Clevan Thomas had a game-high 11 tackles (10 solo and two assisted). He also returned an interception 45 yards.
