Rodell Vereen, the Horry County man who pleaded guilty in 2009 to having sex with a horse, was released from prison on March 1, after having served one year and four months in prison. Vereen was originally sentenced to three years. Vereen pleaded guilty to a charge of buggery and a charge of violating probation in July 2008. Rodell Vereen was sentenced to 3 years in prison Wednesday after being found guilty of buggery for having sex with a 21-year-old female horse named Sugar. A man caught having sex with a horse in a South Carolina stable has been sentenced to three years in prison. Multiple media outlets report that Rodell Vereen was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to buggery. A judge also ordered Vereen to get counseling and stay away from the Lazy B stables when he's released.
