Gaye Macdonald, Magdalena Frackowiak and Ginta Lapina in Viktor & Rolf I swear, this blog post is long overdue and the reason is that I love it too much and was scare of ruining it! Well… Afterall, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren are my favorite designers. Eugenia Mandzhieva, Marina Linchuk and Magdalena Frackowiak in Viktor & Rolf In Viktor & Rolf ’s recent Spring/Summer 2010 runway presentation, the delightful Dutch designer duo invited musical sensation Róisín Murphy to sing a hypnotic electronic soundtrack for the runway show – an incredible remix of Royalty and Demon Lover . Ms. Murphy ’s powerful music not only invaded ... Read Full Story

Dutch design duo Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren surpassed even their own flights of fancy on Saturday with their ready-to-wear collection for summer 2010, a veritable tour de force in tulle. They layered and compressed it so densely that it formed almost solid blocks, which they proceeded to sculpt around the body. A fuschia pink ballgown with a slim bodice had full skirts spewing from the waist, from which big chunks had been gouged out, leaving it with as many holes as a Swiss cheese. Another scarlet gown was precision sliced mid-thigh, leaving the top half of the model in a mini ballet tutu ... Read Full Story

The just come at the right time. In early December is a mini-line of Viktor & Rolf at the stores, which includes five little black cocktail dresses. Capsule as the designated collection collection will be launched from the summer 2010 season and now all of reinventing the classic little black number "new". For the first episode, there is flowing shapes and silhouettes with a slight hint lingerie, bustiers and grinding. Since there is only ever five models, I would imagine that this line has the makings of a cult of collectors. Fashion victims are probably already in the starting blocks. Prices? No idea. Probably ... Read Full Story

photo via Red Carpet Fashion Awards Róisín Murphy (the women Lady Gaga supposedly steals her looks from) will be performing live at the Viktor & Rolf show in Paris on Saturday. “We are attracted and inspired by what we call mega-women: strong women who follow their own path and are uncompromisingly themselves,” said the designers. “Róisín Murphy is a source of inspiration for us. We share with her the need for theatricality and performance in our work. Róisín personifies a power of transformation. On-stage she easily morphs into a beautifully fierce character, while off-stage she is the counterpart of her theatrical self: soft-spoken, modest, ... Read Full Story

Dutch designers Viktor & Rolf gained accolades for their fantasy-themed catwalk collection. They created a series of interesting but entertaining catwalk presentations that the public really loved. In fact, for the fashion critics, the name Viktor & Rolf is a landmark of classic designs and avant-garde concepts that always have something interesting to convey. It could be a trip down memory lane, something like a deja vu with the traditional cuts, hems and curves or a sojourn to the not so near future where designs are out of this world. Lopsided dress, anyone? Theirs is the freedom to pencil thoughts of exaggeration, dreams and ... Read Full Story

Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren are quite the masters of illusion. Check out the trippy dress they sent down their Spring '10 runway. It looks like Anja Rubik has been chopped in half - gasp! So how did they do it? If you get close, you'll notice a black banded portion in between the two layers of tulle. I wonder which celeb will dare to walk this one down the red carpet. In the meantime, what's your take - freaky or fabulous...
