WATCH: Jennifer Lawrence's Long-Lost Movie Finally Has a Release Date

We've seen the phenomenal rise of Jennifer Lawrence over the past few years, from her breakout role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games to her Academy Award-winning performance in Silver Linings Playbook. But, like all actors and actresses, Lawrence had to start somewhere.

Enter: The Devil Knows You, an independent movie filmed in 2007 about a reclusive ex-movie star named Kathryn (Lena Olin) and her daughter who aspires for Hollywood fame too. However, as Kathryn tries to make her acting comeback, she's threatened by an anonymous blackmailer (don't dark secrets suck?). And, by the looks of things, it's only downhill from here.

In the clip, we find a woman dressed in white driving to a secluded estate in her fancy Mercedes, a pretty blond teen (Jennifer Lawrence) smoking by the window before posing suggestively on a fluffy bed, and a grey-suited man drinking a scotch. Suddenly, there's a gun blast and the grey-suited man is lying on the floor, dead. The soap opera-esque clip has no dialogue, and slowly builds tension through dramatic slow motion and ominous music.

The film also stars Rosamund Pike, Dean Winters, and Molly Price. According to E! Online, the film will be released on July 9 via video on demand. There's no plans yet to distribute the film on DVD or Blu-ray.
