By RACHEL JACKSON and LINDA HALL Staff Writers WOOSTER -- Organizers of the Wooster Rotary/Al Van Wie Classic food drive were a little nervous going into this year's event, but said the community really came through. "It went absolutely fantastic, a record year for us. It's the most we've collected in a single year," said Chad Boreman, the Rotarian who oversees.  

Members of the Rotary Club of Weirton and the community recently gathered at Dr. Sarjit Singh's residence where donations amounted to $10,000 for the club's scholarship fund. Steve Kladakis, chairman of the Rotary scholarship committee, stated the club was looking to raise $6,000 for the fund but managed to exceed that goal by nearly $4,000.  

Clearwater Rotary Club will hold its annual Christmas Tree light up on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 6:00 p.m., at the usual location across from the hotel. There will be hot chocolate, little goodie bags, Santa, song sheets, and a box for food bank donations.
