David Oliver won the 110-meter hurdles in a failed attempt at the world record while fellow American Tyson Gay matched the season's second-best time of 19.72 seconds in winning the 200 at the Monaco Diamond League meeting on Thursday. Ryan Brathwaite , a 21-year-old Olympic hurdler from Barbados, won the 110-meter hurdles at the World Championships today. It was the first medal ever to be won for Barbados at the World Championships. Braithwaite hit the first hurdle, but managed to finish the race in 13.14 seconds in a photo finish.
