Ryan O'Neal
Ryan O'Neal (born April 20, 1941) is an actor most known for his performances in "Love Story" and "Paper Moon." He was formerly married to actress Farrah Fawcett and is the father of actress Tatum O'Neal.
Like Father, Like Son
Well here's a not ready for reality TV family drama: Seems that authorities were doing a routine search of the Ryan O Neal premises, as a part of Young Redmond's probation when they chanced upon methamphetamine. So the naughty boy has gotten hauled off back to jail. The plot sickens however, when meth was also found in the master bedroom. That means Ryan got to go to the can too, and as more than moral support for young Redmond. Father and son are being held on 10 000 bail. Now who's gonna bail those two out, unless Tatum can pull some quickie coke deals? One thing's for sure, Farrah Fawcett don't need this!

So that leaves Ryan 3 fer 3, kidwise, and certainly makes him no Kevin Federline. So the only question is "what ever happened to golden boy?"
"But there so much left in me!" - "Forget it kid, you're through!"

I blame Love Story. That evil film has destroyed everything it's touched including the presidential run of Al Gore. When he mentioned that he was the inspiration for Preppy, the media had a field day. Only much later was author Erich Segal questioned about it. He admitted that Preppy had been based on college room mates Al Gore and Tommy Lee Jones. That was too late for Gore's campaign, since by then the press were accusing him of taken credit for Stonehenge. Big Al has taken all the maligning gracefully enough.
I suppose that the audience got so hooked on the film they never wanted the stars to be anything else. Seeing O Neal as a hit man, or a Nazi officer, would've ruined the illusion (in much the same way that seeing an actor who's played Jesus do a make out scene gives people the creeps. Jesus is the role of a life time, and usually the last - James Caviezel. Although Jim is signed up to play No 6, in a new TV series based on Pat McGoohan's The Prisoner!). So he got freeze framed. Being frozen in time is a terrible thing to happen, even to an actor (for instance child actors who aren't allowed to grow up, or awful plastic surgery - which is another form of 'freezing in time'. They refuse to grow old gracefully, but the alternative is much worse.)! McGraw had Steve McQueen to save her - he was bigger than any love story, but who was there to save Ryan. I suppose that he rebelled, in his own way, with "un Preppy-like" behavior. That didn't help his career any.
