Ryan O'Neal (born April 20, 1941) is an actor most known for his performances in "Love Story" and "Paper Moon." He was formerly married to actress Farrah Fawcett and is the father of actress Tatum O'Neal.
Ryan O'Neal's son held on drugs charges
The son of actor Ryan O'Neal and cancer-stricken actress Farrah Fawcett was formally charged Tuesday with drug possession, officials said.
Redmond O'Neal, 24, was arrested on Sunday after being caught with drugs while taking a friend to visit an inmate at a jail in Castaic, northwest of Los Angeles, according to officials.
The Los Angeles Country District Attorney's Office said O'Neal had been charged with possession of an illegal substance in a jail facility.
He is alleged to have been carrying heroin while in the Pitchess Detention Center.
O'Neal is already facing drug possession charges relating to an incident in September last year.
His arrest comes as his mother, former "Charlie's Angels" star Fawcett, was reported to have been hospitalized following a fresh setback in her three-year battle with cancer.
