Ryne Sandburg. Ryne Sandburg doesn't think former teammate Sammy Sosa should be in the Hall of Fame, due to steroid use. Appearing on a sports talk radios how, Sandburg opened up about the topic, saying Sosa will be among many of the players who don't get into the Hall because of steroid use. Wednesday , the Cubs promoted Ryne Sandberg from Manager of Class A Peoria to the Manager of the Double-A Tennessee Smokies. Sandberg spent the past two seasons at Peoria going 131-146-1 in what were his first two years of managing on any level. It was surprising to me that Jody Davis goes from Champion Manager of Daytona to a roving catching instructor in the system. It would have seemed natural to move Sandberg up to Daytona and then have Jody Davis become the Manager of Tennessee, but that is just my opinion.
