Marc Trasolini scored 17 points, including the game-winning free throws with 12 seconds remaining, to lift the Santa Clara Broncos to a 54-53 victory over the Pacific Tigers in a non-conference affair.  

Bronco sophomore Marc Trasolini nailed two free throws with 12 ticks left and the Santa Clara defense stopped a last-second attempt to capture victory over Pacific at the Leavey Center. The Broncos avenged their 84-57 loss from Nov. 22 in Stockton.

Santa Clara's (6-5) eight-game home stretch begins with Pacific (7-3) on Dec. 21 at 7 pm in the Leavey Center. The Broncos will close out the eight-game home stretch with their first two WCC games of the year: San Diego on Jan. 8 and Saint Mary's on Jan. 10. The eight-game home stretch is the longest the Broncos have played since the Broncos played nine straight home games dating back to Dec. 20, 2003-Jan. 22, 2004. They posted a 5-4 record...

Santa Clara (5-4) travel to Houston this week to play at Houston Baptist (1-8) on Mon., Dec. 14 and then another game at Rice (4-4) on Wed., Dec. 16 before returning home to host eight straight home games. Santa Clara defeated Houston Baptist 85-59 on Jan. 25, 2009 in the two school's only meeting. Rice won the only meeting between the two teams, finishing the Broncos off 74-56 on Dec 21, 1981.  

Five members of the Santa Clara women's soccer team received NSCAA All-West Region honors this week, with two each earning spots on the first and third teams, and one on the second team.  

Behind Marc Trasolini's second double-double of the season, and the third of his career, the Broncos defeated Dominican College 69-65. After a slow start in the first half, including 13 first-half turnovers, the Broncos used a 15-3 run to take control of the game in the second half. Santa Clara moves to 5-4 and Dominican falls to 2-6.  

Cal State Bakersfield overcame a 20-rebound effort from Lena Gipson and a 20-point night from Santa Clara freshman guard Meagan Fulps to beat the Broncos 78-76 at the Leavey Center.  

The Broncos are looking to breakthrough with a win at home Tuesday, December 22, against the Cal Poly Mustangs. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m at the Leavey Center, 500 El Camino Real, Santa Clara campus.
