US Investigator: Many "Red Flags" in David Watson's Story

While David Watson continues to profess his innocence, his story - or should we say, stories - continue to come under scrutiny.

US police helping investigate the Queensland honeymoon diving death of Tina Watson saw so many "red flags" in her husband's story they could not count them, a US investigator says.

...

Sgt Flynn, who worked with Queensland police to determine how Tina died, was interviewed on America's FOX News TV channel by talk show host Greta Van Susteren.

"Too many unanswered questions, too many variances in his stories, and more red flags than I could begin to count," is how Sgt Flynn replied when asked by Van Susteren what made Watson a murder suspect.

Sgt Flynn listed some of the red flags, including how Watson's explanation of currents in the water varied and how he allegedly claimed Tina was too heavy to carry to the surface.

"Everyone under water is, in fact, weightless," Sgt Flynn said.

Van Susteren also gave the Queensland legal system a blast when Sgt Flynn refused to comment on Watson's possible murder motive.

Sgt Flynn said "we've been asked by the authorities in Australia to not really elaborate too much on a possible motive".
