Umlauten Br ü no , Sacha Baron Cohen's much anticipated follow up to the very nice Borat , hit DVD and Blu-ray this past week, so I figured I'd give it a review. For anyone who doesn't know already, Br ü no centers around an Austrian fashionista named (gasp) Brüno. And from this point forward, I'm going to stop using the umlaut because it's annoying. Anyway, Bruno screws up real bad at a European fashion expos é and he falls from the heights of fame. Thus he comes to the United States to become famous and escape his blacklisting in Europe. "Brüno" is currently available on DVD and Blu-ray Hi-Def. The Sacha Baron Cohen comedy was released on November 17 through Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Available in either a single disc DVD or a 2-disc Blu-ray, the exploits of the title character are sure to bring laughs in either format. Life is good for Austrian celebrity Brüno (Baron Cohen) as the nation's foremost gay fashion reporter. But after a bizarre accident on a Milan runway, he not only gets fired but finds himself without a lover. So, with nothing left for him in Europe, Brüno heads to America to re-invent himself as a celebrity. But ... Read Full Story

Now Available on DVD & Blu-ray Photos Much like landing on that square in "Monopoly" that sends you to jail without passing go or collecting $200, as Brüno, the flamboyantly gay host of Vienna's popular TV show Funkyzeit discovers shortly into this mockumentary, a fashion risk can go past a fashion don't and right into a full-blown fashion disaster instantly. Instead of being merely passed off as "no big deal, whatever," to use one of Brüno's favorite phrases, it turns out that wearing a one-off suit made entirely out of Velcro to a European Fashion Week event is possibly the worst career move a ... When Sacha Baron Cohen grants an interview, it's usually in character — as Borat, the clueless faux-Kazakh journalist, or as Bruno, the outrageously shallow, ostentatiously gay Austrian fashionista at the center of Cohen's most recent film. Today, though, Cohen joins Fresh Air as himself, for a conversation with Terry Gross ... Read Full Story

Sacha Baron Cohen was a huge success with his film Borat, so why not try and follow it up with another of his characters he's developed from his television show and bring him to life in a fully fledged film? Once again the idea is that Brüno is a character from another country, another world even than the one we'd know even, and he's coming to ours with a big clash. That's pretty much the idea and how it plays out, however with Brüno there's...

After steamrolling the box office with "Borat," Sacha Baron Cohen came back for seconds with his flamboyant fashionista, Brüno. Like its predecessor, "Brüno" found Cohen crisscrossing the United States in-character to create awkward, often hilarious situations that push the boundaries of normal behavior. One of those situations involved none other than erstwhile "American Idol" judge Paula [...]

Sacha Baron Cohen's DA ALI G SHOW still stands as one of the funniest TV series of the past decade. Sort of a politically aware version of CANDID CAMERA, it made Cohen a cult favorite among those with HBO.While his first attempt to spin off the series to film, ALI G: INDAHOUSE, did not open theatrically in the US (with good reason as it was scripted and not all that funny), his second feature, BORAT, became a huge hit.As a big fan of DA ALI...

Universal, rental and retailPredictably outrageous, Sacha Baron Cohen's latest sticks close to the Borat template without ever having quite the same impact. Partly, this is the law of diminishing returns: this time our jaws drop almost by reflex. But a gay Austrian fashionista doesn't have the man-from-the-unknown aspect that made the Kazakh oaf such a joy – and the homophobia in America's heartland is never as unsurprising as the initial...
