Sacramento Real Estate Report for May 2009
The Real Estate numbers for Sacramento County look very similar to April. However, 56 fewer homes sold May 2009 than in April 2009. The average sold price did go up a tad from April at $190,321 to May’s average sold price of $199,796.
With the moratorium on foreclosures, we really aren’t getting a clear picture of real estate, right now. I believe that in the coming months there will be quite a bit more inventory. In the meantime, Short Sales are the main game in town.
As of the day of writing this article there are 3,651 Short Sales on the market for sale, 2,240 regular home sales and only 588 bank owned foreclosed homes for sale.
The longer we put off getting through the Foreclosures, the longer it will take to get our economy back on track. I was hoping we would be in a recovery but unfortunately, we have a way to go, yet.
