The Sacred Syllable OM is also spelled A-U-M, with each letter symbolizing an eternal activity or characteristic of Divine Spirit. The letter "A" symbolizes creation and all acts of creation. Meditating on OM allows us to move forward in life into new "dawns". Why is this? It is because inherent in the A-U-M invocation is the third sound "M" which represents the deity of Shiva.
