Hard to believe the NBA season is almost a month old already. Time flies when you are changing diapers and trying to stay awake past 11pm to catch a west coast game. For those who have been watching the Raptors this season, there is one glaring thing that is wrong with the team. They seem to of removed defense from the game plan. Sure there have been the odd moments of shock when they beat Cleveland opening night, slowed down the Bulls at home and made a huge comeback against the Clippers but all-in-all the D have been a giant load of dino-dung. Every ... Read Full Story

Pistons at Raptors Well as if this game did not need any more spice added to the recipe. The Pistons and Raptors are both undefeated, Chris Bosh is the NBA player of the week and now you add in Allen Iverson to the mix and tonight’s game has become larger than life. If Iverson does play, this game will be the most watched matchup of the night in the league and that gives the Raps a great shot and showing what they are all about. Toronto, who is 3-0 and climbing the charts on the various power rankings around the league, can’t worry about ... Read Full Story

Toronto Raptors at Utah Jazz Well it has been an interesting last few days eh? Finally a game to watch and not have to listen to 1400 opinions on what happened, why it happened and what is ahead. It will be a great test to see what kind of team this is with the killer sked of games coming up. Will they man up and take the firing of SMitch as a wake up call or was it not Sam at all and the team just sucks? I am hoping for the first option of course but I am not sold yet. The potential ... Miami Heat at Toronto Raptors, Raptors -5, total is 187.5 One of my favourite things is Toronto Raptors basketball on a Sunday afternoon. Even with the hour time difference it makes for a relaxing and lazy way to spend the day. Sadly for a lot of Raps fans, today is the first day when you have to deal with not being able to see the game because it is on TSN2. Thank God that I have that channel out in Halifax. I feel the pain of all of you on Rogers, I really do. As for the game, the Raptors better bring a better ... Read Full Story

Atlanta Hawks at Toronto Raptors Is it a little dramatic to call tonight’s game a must win? Considering the schedule ahead, I will certainly feel better if they hit the road out west with a 8-7 record. Winning any of the games on the upcoming trip will be very hard so it is key to bank one at the ACC tonight against a Hawks team that destroyed the Raps a few weeks ago. Friday night games are becoming a bit of a disaster for Raptors fans and all I can see in my head is endless threes from Bibby or Johnson tonight. Have the ... Read Full Story
"Don't worry, man. It's my town!" (Photo by Max Simbron) View full size photo » Fact: Due to my ignorance of tip-off times in the NBA, and specifically Canada, I didn't realize the game time was 11A in Phoenix and 10A here in Los Angeles.  I apologize for the tardiness on a game preview. Fact: Due to said ignorance...

By Louis “King of Roncesvalles” Pisano The Indiana Pacers couldn’t make room, monetarily speaking, or so they said, when Jarrett Jack wanted to resign with the team last year. Jack said to the media that he is a loyal guy, that he wanted to resign with Indiana, and that he was appreciative of the chance they gave him to further his career. Toronto’s GM Bryan Colangelo is looking pretty smart for picking up this agile point guard, and tonight...

On the road, losing with the Raptors. Their road record is now 2-7. To be fair to Toronto, the NBA handed them a very tough opening road schedule against eight Western Conference clubs to start the season. And to be fair, the Raptors have been very good at home in the ACC. Plus, no one could realistically be disappointed ahead of time if they knew the Raptors would lose games to Western Conference playoff teams on the road. But losing to the...

You can give the Raptors the benefit of a couple of days' rest, their freshest possible bodies and a loud home crowd, and let's face it, even in those idyllic conditions, on most nights Toronto's offence-obsessed hoopsters play defence reluctantly and only occasionally effectively.
