Sony and FilmDistrict Purchase Distribution Rights to ‘Evil Dead’ Remake

That Evil Dead remake every 80’s fan has been waiting for (or cringing at) has finally found a distributor. Comingsoon.net has discovered that Sony will be the studio to release Fede Alvarez’s The Evil Dead and that they have partnered up with FilmDistrict and Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures. Makes sense with Raimi and Sony have a longstanding relationship thanks in part to the Spider-Man franchise.
